Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update (08/03/2020):

  • Virginia Governor's Executive Order 67, Safer At Home Phase Three Guidelines, and our COVID-19 Policies are in effect. Failure to follow these policies, will result in eviction without refund, and possible law enforcement involvement.
  • Only REGISTERED GUESTS & REGISTERED VISITORS may be on the property. All trucks & cars MUST display our PARKING PERMIT. ALL GUESTS & VISITORS MUST sign our Guest/Visitor and COVID-19 Agreements BEFORE entering our Private Property. Failure to register and sign our Agreements is trespassing, and law enforcement may be contacted. Trespass under Va. Code §18.2-119 is a Class 1 misdemeanor, punished with up to 12 months in jail, and/or a fine up to $2500.
  • No one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in their prior 14 days, is permitted on our property. You may not enter our property, if you are currently experiencing fever (100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher) or a sense of having a fever, a new cough that cannot be attributed to another health condition, new shortness of breath that cannot be attributed to another health condition, new chills that cannot be attributed to another health condition, a new sore throat that cannot be attributed to another health condition, or new muscle aches that cannot be attributed to another health condition or specific activity (such as physical exercise).
  • Maintain a distance of 6 feet or more, between your family and other guests and campground personnel.
  • Masks are required during check-in, and during any interaction with campground personnel. Masks are available for purchase.
  • All reservation information and payments must be completed online or by phone. Guests must call when within 30 minutes of arrival. We will assist all guests with backing into sites, but will maintain a distance of 6 feet or more.
  • The campground office & store is closed to walk-in business. We are on-site and can be reached by phone. If you require any items from our store, you can request them by phone. We will deliver to the site.
  • Use of the playground is at your own risk. We encourage you to disinfect all surfaces, before touching any equipment. We are limiting use to one family or camping group at a time. Please limit your time at the playground, if others are waiting.
  • The swimming pool is open to one family or camping group at a time. You must call the office to sign-up for a maximum of 1-hour of use, per day. Please do not use the campground chairs. You must bring your own chairs. All other posted pool rules are in effect. Do not swim alone.
  • Please contact the office for a laundry and/or bathroom access code, if needed.
  • The health and safety of our guests is our highest priority. We will closely monitor guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and local health officials. We will continue to rely on their recommendations and expertise to inform our decisions.

Leesville Lake Campground, LLC is conveniently located within walking distance of Leesville Lake. Our 40-acre campground includes spacious full-hookup campsites, a swimming pool, a playground, an event field, large beautiful wooded areas, nature trails, and spectacular views. Campers have quick access to the 17-mile long lake, which provides numerous recreation opportunities, including fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, and other water sports and activities. The lake access area includes a boat ramp, floating dock, pavilion, and paved parking areas with boat trailer spaces.

We're close to U.S. Route 29, between Lynchburg and Danville, Virginia, for campers traveling through the area.

We're very pet friendly!

Firewood from outside of our campground is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. By transporting firewood, you could be spreading diseases and invasive insects that can quickly kill large numbers of trees.

Improvements and expansion completed by new owners (since May 2017):

  • Created logo, campground policies, guest agreements, offices, store, and website.
  • Renamed property to reflect location and type of property.

  • Added dusk to dawn lighting to front of office/store building.
  • Added credit card processing equipment.
  • Added computer reservation system.
  • New entrance sign and office building sign.

  • Added Wi-Fi to all sites, swimming pool, and event field.
  • New 50/30/20 Amp Lighted Electric Pedestals installed at every site.
  • New picnic tables at the following sites: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23, 24.
  • New phone system.
  • New dedicated circuit breakers for sewer pumps.
  • Added new storage shed.
  • Removed unsafe decks.
  • Became an Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce member.
  • Leveled sites: 9, 12, 14, 15, 17, 24.
  • Repaired main water line to bathhouse.
  • Sealed office/store front gable vent.
  • Built storage shed ramp.
  • Added gravel to roads.
  • Added gravel to the following sites: 1, 4, 5, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, 24.
  • Replaced water hydrants at the following sites: 6, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, dump station, pool.
  • Installed security cameras.
  • Event field: excavated, added topsoil, seeded, fertilized, installed fencing, added water hydrant, added electric.
  • Landscaping.
  • New fire rings at the following sites: 15, 16.
  • New playground with new playset and tetherball.
  • Built firewood storage rack.
  • Added walkway between sites 13 and 14.
  • Pumped out all septic tanks.
  • Added riser to building septic tank.
  • Repaired and reinforced the main electric panel for the south side of the campground.
  • Replaced underground wiring to site 5.
  • Repaired and sealed office/store driveway.
  • Added various signs throughout the property.
  • Added retaining wall to dump station.
  • North well: new well & pressure tank building, new well pump and motor, new check valve, new pressure tank, new plumbing, new electrical, added heat cable, added insulation.
  • Entire property was professionally surveyed.
  • South well: built well & pressure tank building, new pressure tank, new plumbing, new electrical, added heat cable, added insulation.
  • Swimming pool: new pump, new electrical, new plumbing, new chlorinator system, new sand filter, pressure washed, repaired plaster, repaired concrete, painted bottom, caulking, repaired skimmers, repaired coping, repaired fence, new umbrellas and stands, new chairs, added cover.
  • Remodeled bathrooms: added FRP wall panels, new epoxy floors, new vanities, new fixtures, new trim, added exhaust fans, new LED lighting, added rubber stair treads in front of bathtubs, new plumbing, frosted windows, painted, caulked, new light switches, new receptacles, added hooks, added stools, new toilet seats.
  • Repaired storm water catch basins, added stone drainage ditch, added railroad ties.
  • Added conduit, new junction box, and buried wiring to pool.
  • Cleared nature trails.
  • Changed site numbering.
  • Created new campground map.
  • Remodeled bathhouse: added new coin operated laundry, added automated lighting to bathhouse outside walkway and inside hallway, added ceiling to entrance hallway, removed closet, added smoke and carbon monoxide alarm, added table, added rack, added chairs, added combination lock, replaced entrance door, removed unused entrance door and sealed opening, repaired drywall, painted, new LED lighting, new receptacles, new epoxy floors, new trim.
  • Removed timber to prepare for expansion.
