COVID-19 Update (8/28/2021):

Virginia Governor’s Executive Orders 72 & 79, and our COVID-19 Policies are in effect. Failure to follow these policies, will result in ejection without refund, and possible law enforcement involvement.

  • ALL GUESTS & VISITORS MUST sign our Guest/Visitor and COVID-19 Agreements BEFORE entering our Private Property and BEFORE proceeding to a site.
  • No one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in their prior 14 days, is permitted on our property. You may not enter our property, if you are currently experiencing fever (100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher) or a sense of having a fever, a new cough that cannot be attributed to another health condition, new shortness of breath that cannot be attributed to another health condition, new chills that cannot be attributed to another health condition, a new sore throat that cannot be attributed to another health condition, or new muscle aches that cannot be attributed to another health condition or specific activity (such as physical exercise).
  • FACE COVERINGS OVER NOSE AND MOUTH ARE REQUIRED DURING CHECK-IN.
  • All guests must wear a mask indoors, and must maintain a distance of 6 feet or more from all other guests and campground personnel.
  • The office/store is closed to walk-in business. Please call if you need anything.

Leesville Lake Campground, LLC is conveniently located within walking distance of Leesville Lake. Our 40-acre campground includes spacious full-hookup campsites, bathhouse, coin laundry, event field, firewood, nature trails, playground, propane, security cameras, store & gift shop, swimming pool, wi-fi, large beautiful wooded areas, nature trails, and spectacular views. Campers have quick access to the 17-mile long lake, which provides numerous recreation opportunities, including fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, and other water sports and activities. The lake access area includes a boat ramp, floating dock, pavilion, and paved parking areas with boat trailer spaces.

We're close to U.S. Route 29, between Lynchburg and Danville, Virginia, for campers traveling through the area.

We're open year-round!

We're very pet friendly!

Firewood from outside of our campground is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. By transporting firewood, you could be spreading diseases and invasive insects that can quickly kill large numbers of trees. https://www.dontmovefirewood.org/map/virginia/

Tent camping is no longer permitted, except for disc dog competitors.

Improvements and expansion completed by current owners (since May 2017):

  • Created LLC, designed logo, developed campground policies, added store, designed website, new phone system, added credit card processing, added reservation system, business cards, changed site numbering, created campground map, installed security cameras, added signs throughout the property, new landscaping, new walkways, planted grass.
  • Removed the following: unsightly storage building, rotted pavilion, unsafe decks, unhealthy trees, brush, satellite dishes, trash, junk.
  • Office/store/bathhouse building: replaced roof, sealed front gable vent, repaired rear wall, remodeled bathhouse, added laundry, remodeled bathrooms, new lighting, repaired and sealed driveway, replaced load center and all circuit breakers, new HVAC system, added receptacles, added heat cable, insulated ceiling.
  • Rear of office/store/bathhouse building: added concrete pad, replaced sill plate, additional wall framing, replaced siding, replaced trim, added flashing, replaced A/C disconnect, new dryer vent, new bathroom vents, removed chimney.
  • Remodeled bathhouse: added new coin operated laundry, added automated lighting to bathhouse outside walkway and inside hallway, added ceiling to entrance hallway, removed closet, added smoke and carbon monoxide alarm, added table, added rack, added chairs, added combination lock, replaced entrance door, removed unused entrance door and sealed opening, repaired drywall, painted, new LED lighting, new receptacles, new epoxy floors, new trim.
  • Remodeled bathrooms: added FRP wall panels, new epoxy floors, new vanities, new fixtures, new trim, added exhaust fans, new LED lighting, added rubber stair treads in front of bathtubs, new plumbing, frosted windows, painted, caulked, new light switches, new receptacles, added hooks, added stools, new toilet seats.
  • Redesigned and repaired main water line to bathhouse and sites 1-15.
  • Repaired sewer hookups.
  • Became member of the following: National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (ARVC), Virginia Campground Association, Virginia Restaurant Lodging Travel Association (VRLTA), Leesville Lake Association, Altavista Area Chamber of Commerce, Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce.
  • Added Wi-Fi to all sites, swimming pool, and event field.
  • New 50/30/20 Amp Lighted Electric Pedestals installed at every site.
  • New picnic tables at the following sites: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23, 24.
  • New dedicated circuit breakers for septic pumps.
  • Added new storage sheds.
  • Replaced water hydrants at the following sites: 2, 6, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, dump station, pool.
  • Event field: excavated, added topsoil, seeded, fertilized, installed fencing, added water hydrant, added electric.
  • New fire rings at the following sites: 15, 16, 20.
  • New playground with new playset and tetherball.
  • Regularly pump out all septic tanks. Added risers to septic tanks.
  • Repaired and reinforced main electric panels, added ground rod to the north panels.
  • Replaced underground wiring and added conduit to site 5.
  • Added retaining wall to dump station.
  • North well: new well & pressure tank building, new well pump and motor, new check valve, new pressure tank, new plumbing, new electrical, added heat cable, added insulation.
  • Entire property was professionally surveyed.
  • South well: built well & pressure tank building, new pressure tank, new plumbing, new electrical, added heat cable, added insulation.
  • Swimming pool: new pump, new electrical, new plumbing, new chlorinator system, new sand filter, pressure washed, repaired plaster, repaired concrete, painted bottom, caulking, repaired skimmers, repaired coping, repaired fence, new umbrellas and stands, new chairs, added cover, new depth markings.
  • Repaired storm water catch basins, added stone drainage ditch, added railroad ties, added temporary dam.
  • Added conduit, new junction box, and buried wiring to pool.
  • Cleared nature trails.
  • Added north exit road.
  • Added propane filling station.
  • Leveled sites: 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 21, 24.
  • Added gravel to roads and the following sites: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 24.
  • Removed timber to prepare for expansion.
  • Replaced underground wiring and added conduit to site 18.
  • Repaired north septic. Added risers to north septic tanks.
  • Added ground rod to north electrical system.
  • Replaced split rail fencing.
